Always Playing!

In the past two weeks we have gone to our first birthday party and first playdate! Jacob has no problem making friends but sometimes I wonder how the moms of his friends feel about it. For example at the birthday party Jacob was spotted playing in the ice bucket with birthday girl Emerson, and at the playdate Jacob reminded Nick how fun it is to spit (something Nicks mom was glad he had forgot just a week before). But in the end everyone has fun and no one gets hurt, and that is all that matters! Jacob is as great playing at home by himself as he does with his friends. Jacob really doesn't have a favorite toy and is content with just about anything we get out for that day, but when all else fails nothing is more fun than opening and closing the kitchen gate! Here are some of my favorite playtime pictures!!

Forget birthday games this is way more fun!!!

Anyone want a coke?

Here mom you can play with this one.

So cute, just playing in my room.

Amazing the things that can be so much fun!

Decision to blog

So I have to admit when I first saw a blog I thought how silly, I don't have time for that.....and look at me now! Jacob is growing so fast and changing everyday and I want to be able to share this with those who are closest to us. So this blog is especially for my family in New York, my best friends in Texas, those in Winston Salem, and even my parents. But not only for those who seem far away but those of you who see us more often and yet still for some reason unknown to me have this crazy interest in our never ending crazy lives!

So here is a quick update....

Yes we did it, we took the tubes plunge, and let me be the first to say that all of the anxiety and fear was so worth it! Jacob got tubes about two weeks ago and is doing great! We had a post-op appointment on Tuesday and his ears are completely clear and looking great! Jacob was crawling two days after the tubes (tell me if that does not say something), eating better - both finger foods and nursing, and seems to be all around feeling better.

Monday was a day of discovery for Jacob as he learned he could clap. He spent the entire day clapping at everything and when I saw him in bed on Tuesday morning he woke up clapping. What a silly boy!!! He also discovered the joys of pulling up one everything! Standing in his crib and even pulling up on our entertainment center!

We have started the Little Gym on Wednesday and we both really enjoyed it! We both got some exercise and Jacob was able to work on developmental skills like walking, jumping, and upper body strength all while exploring the world of gymnastics.....and of course bubbles and balls.

SO basically we have a crawling, pulling up on everything, exploring, playful, funny, loving, and the closest to healthy we have ever been, little man!!!
